How to Open Unlimited Shopify Stores for Free

Shopify is a complete commerce platform that lets you start, grow, and manage a business.
Create and customize an online store
Sell in multiple places, including web, mobile, social media, online marketplaces, brick-and-mortar locations, and pop-up shops
Manage products, inventory, payments, and shipping

Shopify is completely cloud-based and hosted, which means you don’t have to worry about upgrading or maintaining software or web servers. This gives you the flexibility to access and run your business from anywhere with an internet connection.

Basic Shopify allows you to sell an unlimited number of products. This is the cheapest available solution when you have a vast product range. Shopify doesn’t limit the number of products or file storage. However, features like gift cards, professional reports or abandoned cart recovery aren’t included. It’s great to see that telephone support is already part of this plan.

The plan named Shopify is $50 more expensive, but has a lower credit card rate and provides more features. The rate charged for credit card payments is 0.3% lower and professional reports provide greater insight into your online store, making analysis more convenient. In any case, you should check your Google Analytics before upgrading to this plan, it’s free and will give you a good understanding of your online shop’s performance. This plan also includes “Gift cards” and “Abandoned Cart Recovery,” though both of these features can be added much more cheaply with an app in the  Shopify Basic plan.

Advanced Shopify is the most expensive plan. But therefore, the credit card payment rate is the lowest and it provides the best shipping conditions for the US. This plan is the only option if you need real-time carrier shipping, which means that the shipping cost is automatically calculated by a third party. Furthermore, it has an advanced report builder that will allow you to customize own professional reports.

Shopify Plus is an enterprise solution for businesses that seek a scalable e-commerce platform. Long story short: Shopify Plus pricing starts at about $2000 per month which is a massive increase compared to Shopify Advanced ($300).

But what will you get on top?

A dedicated support team will help you with the launch and will provide 24/7 priority support. Your developers will get more access to the Shopify system for customization (cart scripting, dedicated API etc.). You are covered with two additional clone storefronts for internationalization. If you need more information about this ultimate tier, please get in touch directly with the Shopify Team.

While $29/month for Shopify's basic plan isn't much, it can really put a halt on guys (or gals) just starting out who don't yet fully understand the ropes of e-commerce and are unsure if the investment will pay off. To avoid this issue, I'm going to be explaining the simplest method that you can follow to create an unlimited number of Shopify stores without being charged a single cent.

Note: I have successfully opened these stores, sold products, and been able to accept real payments with this method.

So you want to become a dropshipping legend, but you don't have the funds to start. Maybe you just hate paying for stuff when you know you could get it for free. Whatever your motive, this method should help you get started.

1) Head on over to http://partners.shopify.com.

http://partners.shopify.com.
In the top right, you'll see a big purple button that says "Join now". Click it and then fill in all the information on the signup page. I'd recommend using real info (especially your email) as some Shopify features are only accessible after you have verified your email.
2) After you've submitted all your info, you'll be taken to your Shopify partner dashboard.

You'll see a button that says "Create store". If you click it, you'll be asked to input more information (go through this process until complete) and you will be able to create a development store entirely for free. You can create as many of these development stores as you wish.

3) After you have successfully created your first development store, go head on over to the store's Shopify admin dashboard.

Now you can start adding products, choosing your theme, and any apps you'd like as well. Before you can fully go live, make sure and remove the password protection from your store.

(as simple as this step is, I always seem to forget it).

And just like that, you should now have the ability to create an unlimited amount of free Shopify stores. You can even add your own custom domains to your Shopify store to avoid having to use dmznetworks.myshopify.com as the URL.

Costs for Domain Names
Common to all Shopify plans is that no domain or email hosting is included. Shopify allows you to buy a domain name for $14 per year, but this still doesn’t include any email hosting. To save a few bucks, we recommend that you compare these prices with a few external domain registrars (NamecheapGoDaddy, etc.).

Furthermore, every plan allows you to add apps from the Shopify App Store or use a custom template. Most of these are available for free, but if you need a special feature, it could cost you extra. Therefore, we recommend that you test Shopify extensively during your free trial.

Monthly vs. Yearly Plans and Cancellation
You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel Shopify anytime, provided you pay per month. If you want to minimize the financial burden, you should opt for a monthly plan – especially in the beginning. Afterward, you can upgrade to a long-term pre-payment option to receive a significant price reduction (see table).

Also, if possible in your country, use the Shopify Payment Gateway, otherwise you’ll have to pay an extra transaction Shopify rate of up to 2% based on which plan you have chosen.

What are Shopify’s Transactions Fees?
There are two different fees: the one that Shopify charges on your turnover (ranging from 0.5% to 2%) and another one for the payment gateway (such as PaypalStripe or Authorize.net). Please note that this doesn’t apply to manual payment methods such as cash on delivery or bank transfers.

The Shopify fee can be completely avoided by using Shopify Payments (only available in the USA, UK, and Canada). The fee for the payment gateway is an additional fee of around 3% + 30¢ per transaction.
